This website is designed to share learnings about the growth and development of community foundations in Michigan. Learnings come from evaluation research conducted on a cluster of W.K. Kellogg Foundation grants in support of community foundation growth and youth in grantmaking since 1988. The information, practical tools, and lessons learned provided here are organized into three main categories: Starting a community foundation For community leaders interested in establishing a community foundation. Strengthening existing community foundations For staff and board members of established community foundations interested in boosting capacity. Assisting Community Foundations For regional, state-level, or national organizations - including funders - supporting community foundation growth and development and partnering with community foundations in creating positive change in the communities they serve.
